HyperMAC Signal Routing for the XL8 System
The DL461 is the optical and copper signal router at the heart of every Midas XL8 live audio system. Engineered for the most demanding touring and broadcast environments, it carries 192 bidirectional channels between the XL8 Control Surface and the rest of the system over copper CAT5/5e or single-mode optical fibre, with snake runs up to 500 m on fibre or 100 m on copper. Every XL8 ships with two DL461 units configured for dual-redundant X and Y operation, so a single cable fault never interrupts the show.
Dense AES50 & Ethernet Connectivity
Ten AES50 and ten Ethernet control ports connect to DL471 Audio System Signal Processors and ten additional AES50 ports handle stage-box traffic. An automatic delay-management system keeps every channel time- and phase-coherent across the network, regardless of cable length or topology.
Touring-Grade Construction
The DL461 runs 24-bit audio at 96 kHz, configures from the front-panel LCD or the console, and houses everything in a rugged 3U rackmount chassis. An auto-ranging universal switch-mode power supply means it works the same in Tokyo, Tennessee or Tel Aviv. Designed and engineered in the U.K.
